Welcome back from Spring Break! I am excited to see the children once again!
We watched The Life of Jesus during Religion. After we read about Jesus in the home of Mary and Martha. We talked about the importance of putting God first in our lives in all that we do.
We wrote our Memory verse:
In math we worked on our bar graphs. We also took a survey and learned about range, median and mode.
For phonics, we learned about more digraphs. We learned about wr, ck, gn, kn, and ph. Many of them have silent letters and some make different sounds.
During social studies we learned about the 3 branches of government
We wrote about what we did over spring break during writing
We ended with reading mentors in small groups.
Tuesday:
We started by saying our memory! Everyone got 100%! Great Job!!
In phonics we played Beat the Clock to review our digraphs. Then we came up with as many words for the digraphs as we could.
In math we compared our data and learned about circle graphs.
In handwriting, we wrote an Easter Poem.
Today in Social Studies we learned about our Local and State Government.
We ended our day making tissue paper stained glass crosses and watching VeggieTails An Easter Carol.
Wednesday:
Today in Chapel, Mrs. Devoy's 3rd graders shared The Easter Story from the Bible. What an amazing story it is! I love to hear it each and every year! The children also learned more about their last mission project. We are helping another school in Missouri. Each of the teachers picked a color to wear today to remind them of crayons. Each class got a crayon bank that we will fill up for the next few weeks. On May 31st, the children each get to wear any color they like to be crayons. On that day, we will weigh our banks. The class with the heaviest bank will win jeans days from June 1-7!!
In math we learned about venn diagrams and line plots. We used hula hoops to help our venn diagram come alive!
We had specials back to back today! We went right from computers to gym.
We did some map skills and watched a video about government for social studies.
In phonics, we proved multi-syllable words! Some words were 3 or 4 syllables!!
We ended by writing our memory verse and cutting out our stained glass crosses! They look beautiful!
Thursday:
We had a wonderful time celebrating! He is Risen!! Alleluia! Thanks to everyone for their help with supplies, treats and their time!!
